From the desert to the city. During my recent trip to Dubai, one of the most memorable days was spending the morning camel trekking, having breakfast by a lake in the desert, then being back in the grand city of Dubai. Here are some highlights from the day:
9:03am – a visit to the camel farm, where they train camels for races
9:34am – trekking through the desert
10:02am – breakfast by the lake, in the desert!
1:15pm – back in the city, where air-conditioning is a necessity
1:45pm – Lunch on the patio of Al Falamanki, a Lebanese restaurant. A mix of cold mezzes (humus, beet and carrot tahini, smoked eggplant dip) with grilled chicken and salad.
2:56pm – couch area where you can sip on tea and smoke shisha
5:23pm – catching the sunset at the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa
